In 2006 public discussions around a Square on Broadway in Newburgh were held. Newburgh residents were excited about the possibility of such a large section of green space right downtown but nothing happened. Now the Newburgh City-owned land ear marked for the Square is for sale by sealed bid to developers and the specs show no indication of a Square. We hope that through creating a temporary park at the location through Park(ing) Day we can remind City Council and our neighbors what a wonderful idea this was environmentally, economically and socially.
